We offer a domain registration service for all clients, and being a JANET authorised ISP we also register domain names ending with ‘.gov.uk’ and ‘.ac.uk’ for eligible organisations.
Domain registration prices
In many cases you can register domains more cheaply with one of the large registrars and you’re very welcome to do that, even if we are providing the hosting. However, bear in mind that it is very easy to let registration lapse through forgetting to update bank cards or contact details, or be confused by DNS entries that you’ll need to set up.
You may feel embarrassed that after saving a fiver over two years you then have to ask us to log in to your 123Reg account to salvage your domain. In all the years we’ve been doing this we’ve never lost one, only because we are obsessive about keeping everything paid up well in advance and ensuring records are kept up-to-date.
Nominet price rise March 2016
In March 2016 Nominet raised their wholesale domain registration price by 50% and scrapped the multi-year discount scheme. Regrettably, after sixteen years of maintaining, or even lowering our UK domain registration prices, we have had to pass on these increased fees.
